Drums are one of the most ancient of musical instruments, the staccato sound sometimes compared to a heartbeat. Learn about traditional music and working with hide. Make your own 12â?? hand-drum using elk hide and cedar wood in this one-day workshop. Each participants will complete a beautiful,12â?? x 3â??, single-head hand-drum. The hand-drum can be a lasting work of art as well as a unique musical instrument. Cost for materials and class is $100.00. Pre-registration is required and $70.00 material fee must be paid by July 1st to order supplies.
