Walk in the Park: Hike with Naturalist (July 06, 2008 - July 06, 2008)
Antelope Island State Park's geological formations span from the Precambrian to Holocene Period covering billions of years. Join the park naturalist for a closer look at the geology of Antelope Island State Park. This is a steep 2 ½ mile hike with moderate difficulty rating. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water and meet at the Frary Peak trailhead at 9 a.m. For more information, please call (801) 721-9569

Davis County Moonlight Bike Ride (July 18, 2008 - July 18, 2008)

Bird Walk / Book Signing (July 19, 2008 - July 19, 2008)
Author of Backyard Birds of Utah, Audubon Advocate, and owner of Wild Bird Center in Layton Utah, Bill Fenimore guides a morning bird walk around Fielding Garr Ranch. A book signing at the visitor center will follow the walk. Participants should meet at the Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. for a carpool down to the Ranch. Pioneer Day Weekend Events (July 24, 2008 - July 25, 2008)
Join us in celebrating Pioneer Day Weekend at one of Utah's earliest ranches, the historic Fielding Garr Ranch at Antelope Island State Park for an exciting time learning how the people of Antelope Island lived. Learn to make pioneer handkerchief dolls, pick up a needle and quilt. Dip candles and make a pioneer lantern. Participants will need to bring an empty vegetable or soup can to make their own pioneer lantern. Learn pioneer games such as farm ball and race your family in a sack race. Birding the Causeway (July 26, 2008 - July 26, 2008)
Join the park naturalist for a morning birding tour of the Davis County causeway. Participants should bring water, binoculars, field guides and meet at the entrance station at 9 a.m. This event is open to all ages and skill levels. For more information, please call (801) 721-9569.

Frary Homestead Tour (July 26, 2008 - July 26, 2008)
Join us for an informative lecture on the history of the Frary homestead. Participants should meet at the Frary homestead turnoff at 11.a.m. Maps will be given out at the entrance station. For more information call (801) 649-5742.

Jr. Ranger Program (July 26, 2008 - July 26, 2008)
Along the salty shoreline of Great Salt Lake live a few tough, salt-loving plants. Uncovering the mysteries of these plants, Jr. Rangers will gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to live along the shores of Great Salt Lake. Participants should meet at the Entrance Gate parking lot at 3 p.m. and be prepared to walk around the rocky, muddy shoreline. Star Party (August 01, 2008 - August 01, 2008)
Thanks to Curious George author and illustrator, H.A. Rey, star constellation illustrations appear as titled. Join the park naturalist for a look at this new view of the current constellations. Hike with Naturalist (August 02, 2008 - August 02, 2008)
Join the park naturalist on a 3-mile easy hike along Mountain View trail. Participants should bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sturdy shoes and meet at the northern Mountain View trail head at 9 a.m. For more information, please call (801) 721-9569.

Jr. Ranger Program (August 02, 2008 - August 02, 2008)
Learn the art of leaving no trace behind while recreating in natural areas. Join the park naturalist and learn to leave nothing but footprints behind. Participants should meet at the visitor center at 4 p.m. This activity is intended for children ages 6-12, however all ages are welcome. For more information, please call (801) 721-9569.

Jr. Ranger Program (August 16, 2008 - August 16, 2008)
Monkeys in Utah’s inland sea? It can’t be…Join the park naturalist for a closer look at life in Great Salt Lake. Participants should bring swimsuit, sunscreen, water and meet at the north Bridger Bay Beach parking area at 3 p.m. This activity is intended for children ages 6-12, however all ages are welcome. Full Moon Hike (August 16, 2008 - August 16, 2008)
Join the park naturalist for a hike underneath the full moon. This is an easy 1-1/2 mile hike along Mountain View trail, a perfect hike for families. Hike with Naturalist (August 17, 2008 - August 17, 2008)
Join the park naturalist on a 4-mile hike to the top of Buffalo Point and beyond. Learn about one of the oldest and largest publicly owned bison herds in the United States. Participants should bring sunscreen, water, snack, sturdy shoes and meet at Buffalo Point trailhead at 9 a.m. For more information, please call (801) 721-9569.

OAS and WSU Star Party (August 23, 2008 - August 23, 2008)
Join Ogden Astronomical Society and Weber State University for an evening under the stars. Participants can expect to enjoy beautiful celestial views (weather permitting), and stellar conversation with local astronomers. Meet at White Rock Bay at 9 p.m. If you bring a flashlight, please make it a red-colored lens. For more information please call (801) 721-9569.

Jr. Ranger Program (August 30, 2008 - August 30, 2008)
Fall breezes carry bird songs to the waiting ear. Jr. Rangers, come and learn the art of birding by ear. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, sunscreen, bug repellent and meet at the ranch at 10 a.m. This activity is intended for children ages 6-12, however all ages are welcome. Industry on Great Salt Lake Program (August 30, 2008 - August 30, 2008)
Collecting brine shrimp cysts, salt and other minerals from Great Salt Lake has proven very profitable for many Utah businesses. Join the park naturalist for a closer look into these industries. Hike with Naturalist (August 31, 2008 - August 31, 2008)
Bighorn sheep roam through remote rugged landscapes. Join the park naturalist on a guided hike to the top of Frary Peak and learn more about the Park’s bighorn sheep. This is a 7-mile hike of moderate difficulty. Estimated time of hike is 5 1/2 to 6 hours. Participants should bring sturdy shoes, water, bug spray, sunscreen, snack and meet at the Frary trailhead at 8 a.m. For more information, please call (801) 721-9569.
