Seasonal Park Ranger / Naturalist: $9.39/hr (one position available)
Incumbent will provide visitor information about Goblin Valley State Park and surrounding public lands; research, develop and present a variety of interpretive programs including guided hikes, evening programs, roving interpretation, Junior Ranger programs, and on-site school programs to visiting school groups (K-college); assist with program advertising in the park and in surrounding communities; monitor and maintain park trails; assist with the development of informational publications and exhibits; assist with daily fee collection, reporting and accounting in all park areas; perform general maintenance and cleaning of park facilities; perform other duties as assigned. Work is performed in remote setting with limited resources or conveniences.
INCUMBENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO LIVE ON SITE IN A TWO BEDROOM DORMITORY STYLE SETTING AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.

The job runs from mid-March through mid-October. Incumbent will perform a variety of routine duties at Goblin Valley State Park. Incumbent will provide information to the public on park specific questions, regulations concerning camping and day-use activities, and surrounding recreational opportunities on public lands; meet and greet park visitors and help them to discover the park's resources and how to enjoy them appropriately; assist with park operation in daily fee collection, reporting and accounting in all park areas; assist in staffing visitor center during park operational hours; perform general maintenance and cleaning of park facilities; perform basic plumbing and construction jobs as necessary; assist in the maintenance of park trails; develop and present educational programs to visiting school groups (K-college); develop and lead guided hikes, evening programs and other park programs; assist with the development of interpretive or informational publications and exhibits; and perform other duties as assigned. Work is performed in remote setting with limited resources or conveniences.
